Beloved Edmonton Supergroup Secondhand Dreamcar Releases Single and Video –– It’s All the Same –– in Anticipation of Fall Album Release

Edmonton’s 9-piece soul/blues/roots dynamo Secondhand Dreamcar have released the first single from their much-anticipated second album Get Ready, which is due for release at the end of September. The single, entitled It’s All the Same, is a funky anthem asserting and celebrating the irreducible complexity of the world, with a solid groove reminiscent of The Meters and juicy horn lines that pay homage to James Brown and the J.B.’s.  

It’s All the Same will open Secondhand Dreamcar’s second full-length album Get Ready, which will be released on all platforms on September 25th. Get Ready is an ideal follow-up to The Dreamcar’s JUNO-nominated debut Answer the Call; it engenders a more mature and confident iteration of the approach the band has always taken in the studio – to capture the sound and energy of their live shows as faithfully as possible. As with Answer the Call, the bulk of Get Ready was recorded live off the floor at Riverdale Recorders in Edmonton, and it’s full of songs that deliver on every level – with tight and irresistible grooves, engaging and meaty lyrics, and first-rate musicianship. It’s exactly what audiences have come to expect from Secondhand Dreamcar, and might even exceed those expectations.
